ngVLA Flyover
Technical Video • June 12th, 2023
The next-generation Very Large Array promises to reshape astronomy and astrophysics. It will be an unprecedented research powerhouse: a telescope of 263 radio antennas extending across North America and beyond. It will explore where other frontier radio astronomy instruments cannot. The ngVLA will bridge the discovery space unexplored by either ALMA or the Square Kilometer Array. The next-generation Very Large Array ngVLA’s astonishing collecting area -- more than 60,000 square meters – will give it 10 times the sensitivity of ALMA and more than 30 times the resolution of the current VLA.
